Imphal, February 04 2023:
Naorem Birahari College Governing Body secretary Nongthombam Thoiba has appealed to all concerned to refrain from issuing misleading statements that could tarnish the image of the college, on social media and in local media.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, Thoiba said that Usham Dijen, who claims himself to be the secretary of the college's governing body, has been issuing misleading statements to the media.
In his statement on February 1, Dijen claimed that a new GB was constituted in a meeting held on October 24 last year.
On the other hand, he submitted to the court in relation with a case WA No 105 of 2022 that the GB was formed on October 14 .
At the same time, in the affidavit of another case WP (C) No.54 of 2022 submitted on January 17 this year, he told the court that the GB formation has been completed.
However, he did not include any relevant order to support his claim and also refused to produce the final order for formation of the GB when demanded by local clubs, and it shows that the claim made by Dijen is not true.
Dijen further claimed that the 321 employees of the college include 250 employees, whose appointments were made through back dated by former secretary Longjam Ibohal, who claims himself to be the chairman of the GB.
Dijen should seek information in this regard from Ibohal, Thoiba said.
Thoiba, however, said that the GB headed by him and L Kamal appointed some employees through proper DPC, before the GB was dissolved in 2021 without any proper cause, for which they filed a case in the court verdict of which is still pending.
