Kalam Children & Student Scientists Centre was inaugurated on Friday at Khangabok Higher Secondary School in the presence of Dr Chandramouli Joshi, chairman Dr APJ Abdul Kalam National Council of Young Scientist, India and National Council of Teacher Scientist India.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Chandramouli Joshi stated that Dr APJ Abdul Kalam National Council of Young Scientist, registered at Vigyan Prasar Network of Science Clubs (VIPNET) under Government of India will establish 25 science centres across the country.

"Similar centres were opened at Guwahati in Assam and Tripura earlier with the aim to fulfil the dreams of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and help science enthusiast students become scientists", he added.
He further stressed on the importance of science in the development of the country.
SP Thoubal, Jogeshchandra Haobijam; ZEO Thoubal, A Anilkumar; Bharat Bhusan & Bharat Ratan Awardee, Dr Kh Akoisana and Th Radhamani, principal of Khangabok Higher Secondary School also attended the event as presidium members.
