Manipur slump to third straight loss in Col CK Nayudu Trophy

Manipur lost by an innings and 5 5 runs in the hands of Pondicherry in the third match of the ongoing Col CK Nayudu Trophy 2022-23 Group C competition at Gujarat College Ground 'A'.
This was the third straight loss for Manipur U-25 team having lost by an innings and 326 runs to Railways and an innings and 215 runs to Tamil Nadu in the tournament.
Manipur won the toss and scored 147 runs for all wickets down in 84.4 overs in first innings and 178 runs for all wickets down in 82.2 overs of the second innings.
Pondicherry scored 380 for 10 in 89.5 overs of the first innings courtesy centuries from RB Gautham Srinivas (108 off 161 balls) Sidak Singh (118 off 153 balls) to take a massive 240 run lead and eventually secured the huge victory as Manipur faltered again in second innings on Day 3 of the match.
In Manipur's first innings, Suresh Singh topscored with 67 runs off 240 balls as Sidak Singh of Pondicherry (4/56) led the bowling attack with a four wicket haul.
Kiran Laishram of Manipur fetched 4 wickets for 103 runs in Pondicherry's innings while Th Anand claimed three (3/63).In Manipur second innings, Al Bashid made the most runs for the team scoring 64 off 165 balls as Santosh Kh and Aziz Mirza added 21 and 20 runs respectively.
Sidak Singh of Pondicherry bettered his own performance from the first innings to dismantle Manipur with a 8-wicket haul by spilling 92 runs in 35.2 overs.
S Jasvanth claimed the other two wickets to restrict Manipur to 178 runs.
Manipur will play Assam in the next match from January 29 at Tinsukia DSAG, Assam.
