MNCA Plate Tournament : Haojalen's unbeaten 93 helps RRCC thrash YPHU by 6 wickets

Haojalen Kipgen scored an unbeaten 93 off 62 balls to steer RRCC-Churachandpur to a huge 6-wicket win over YPHU-Lalambung Makhong in a Group A league match of the ongoing 7th MNCA Plate Tournament.
It was the fourth win for RRCC in as many as five matches while it was fourth loss for YPHU in 5 matches.
The win also raises the semifinal hopes of the Churachandpur team.
Opting to bat first at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, YPHU were bundled out for a total of 166 runs in 39.5 overs as Pankaj Hazarikai (3/44), Haojalen Kipgen (2/20) and Letkhotinthang (2/32) wreaked havoc.
Abdul Kaif (30), Irom Eshwor (22), Birbal Irom (15) and Moiranthem Thomas (15) were significant run scorers for YPHU today before they succumbed to 166.In the chase, Louriyam Elan (33) and Haojalen (93 not off 62 balls, 14x4, 2x6) racked up 117-run partnership for the third wicket before Haojalen took the team to victory within 21.3 overs with 6 wickets left to spare.
YPHU's Bishworaj Sharma picked up two wickets as Birbal Irom and Robinson Meitei claimed a wicket each.
Haojalen who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere in a Group B match at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, SSU cruised to their third victory in four matches by thrashing KCDO-Kongpal by 68 runs.
SSU piled up 208 runs for all wickets down in 38.5 overs after electing to bat first thanks to sensible knocks from Saikhomba Thongam (32), Rupachandra (39), Thangjam Somorjit (27) and Shamurailatpam Deepankar (27).SSU then bowled out KCDO for 140 in 22.1 overs riding on exemplary bowling performances from Chungkham Gugu (3/38), Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma (3/23), Dingkhu G (2/20) and Sougrakpam Douglas (2/34).Md Ajizur Rahman with 38 runs was the highest run getter for KCDO in the chase today.
SSU's S Deepankar Sharma who added 27 runs and fetched 3 wickets was adjudged man of the match.
