Haojalen's heroics guide RRCC to 6-wkt win; SSU beat KCDO

Imphal, January 17 2023:
Haojalen Kipgen hit an unbeaten 93 and topk two wickets to help RRCC (Churachandpur) brush aside YPHU (Lalambung) by six wickets, while SSU (Singjamaei) eased to a 65-run win over KCDO (Kongpal) in the MNCA Plate Tournament on Tuesday.
RRCC skittled out YPHU for 166 in 39.5 overs after the latter chose to bat first.
A collective bowling effort involving Pankaj Hazarika, who took three wickets, the duo of Letkhotinthang and Haojalen Kipgen who claimed two scalps each, backed by one wicket each from Thangkhopao and Louriyam Elan Singh, laid the foundation for their side's victory.
Abdul Kaif (30), Irom Eshwor (22), Bishworaj Sharma (16), Birbal Irom (15), Moirangthem Thomas (15) and Amar Sandham (12) scored in double digits in the YHPU innings.
RRCC took 21.3 overs to achieve the target courtesy of Haojalen Kipgen who came up with a blistering unbeaten 93 off 62 runs, with helpful contribution from Louriyam Elan (33).The Churachandpur side lost four wickets in their run chase, losing two wickets to Irom Sunny and one each to Birbal Irom and Moirangthem Thomas.
Haojalen Kipgen claimed the man of the match accolade for his all-round show.
With the result, RRCC reclaimed their lead atop the Group A point table with eight points from five matches.
In the day's Group B match, SSU's bowlers played a pivotal role in their dominant 68-run victory against KCDO.
Electing to bat, SSU garnered 208 (all out) in 38.5 overs with efforts from Rupachandra (39), Saikhomba Thongam (32), Thangjam So-morjit (27), Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma (27) and Dingku(21).Then they bowled out KCDO for 140 in 22.1 overs.
Chungkham Gugu and Shamurailatpam Deepankar shone with the ball, taking three wickets each as Dingku and Sougrakpam Douglas did their bit with two wickets each to give SSU a dominant win.
Md Ajizur Rahman (38) was the lone bright spot for KCDO in their run chase.
Earlier, Harrydutta Hidangmayum took four wickets, Ziaur Rahaman claimed three, and Hafiz Imran and Md Ajizur Rahman bagged one each for KCDO.
S Deepankar Sharma was named the man of the match.
