126th birth anniversary of Netaji observed

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Iconic Events Week commemorating 75 years of India's Independence and the 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was held today at INA Memorial at Moirang.
Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam who attended the function as chief guest hoisted the National flag followed by a band display to the tune of "Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja" .
At the occasion, the Minister called on the gathering to never forget the sacrifice and contribution of Netaji to the Nation.
Govindas also encouraged students to draw inspiration from Netaji's sacrifice and take the country to greater heights.
A 10 minute documentary film based on the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra was also screened during the celebration while Khenjonglang Group staged a docudrama.
Earlier, Prabhat Pheri was carried out at Keithelmanbi.
A drawing and painting competition on Netaji's life was also held today at Nambol while a blood donation camp and a mega free medical camp were organized at Kangvai.
MLAs Th Shanti Singh, Tongbram Robindro, Chairman of Loktak Development Authority M Asnikumar, IGAR (South) Major General Rajan Sharawat and Brigadier Michael D'Souza of 27 Sector, Assam Rifles also attended the programme among others.
