Manipur were 46 runs for 1 at stumps, trailing Sikkim by 183 runs on the first day of their plate group semifinal match in the Ranji Trophy at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat, Gujarat on Tuesday.
Manipur, who won the toss and elected to field first, bowled out Sikkim for 229 in 71.4 overs.
Jotin Pheiroijam and Kis-han Singha were the star performers for the state squad, claiming four wickets each.
Jotin finished with figures of 16(O)-33(R)-4(Wkt) while Kishan bowled 22.4 overs for his four-wicket haul while conceding 79 runs.
Rex and Bishowrjit chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Sikkim's first innings saw Nilesh Lamichaney (83/159), Sumit (56/90) and Lee Yong Lepcha (30/50) emerge as key performers whose efforts helped their team secure 229 runs.
In reply, Manipur wrapped up the day playing 15 overs for 46/1.B Rahman was unbeaten on 19 off 46 balls and Langlonyamba M made 4 (not out) off 15 balls as Ronald M (10/29) was dismissed by Sikkim's Palzor.
