Ranji Trophy - Plate Group semi-final : Manipur trail by 183 runs after bundling out Sikkim or first innings total of 229 runs on Day 1

Manipur were trailing behind by 183 (in 15 overs) runs at Stumps on day 1 of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group semi-final match after bowling out Sikkim for first innings total of 229 runs in 71.4 overs at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat.
Jotin Pheiroijam and Kishan Singha continued their fine forms to trouble Sikkim batters and shared four wickets each to lead the collapse at 229 runs after Manipur opted to field first.
B Rahman (19*) and Langlonyamba M (4*) were unbeaten as Manipur ended the day at 46 for 1 after losing Ronald M for 10 in the 11th over to Palzor of Sikkim.
Earlier in the Sikkim's first innings, pacer Jotin Pheiroijam sent packing three top order batters - Pankaj on 3-ball duck, Arun (4) and Anish Thapa to reduce the team to 21 for 3 in 13.4 overs.
Sumit and Nilesh Lamichaney however forged a remarkable 102-run fourth wicket partnership off 157 balls before Jotin broke the partnership by dismissing Sumit for 56 (off 90 balls) to make it 123 for 4 in 39.5 overs.
Nilesh Lamichaney then added 45 runs off 66 balls with Anwesh who was removed by RK Rex for the fifth wicket before L Kishan Singha left further dent by removing Palzor for 4 and Nilesh for 83 as the scoreboard read 182 after 58 overs.
Bishworjit Konthoujam then bowled out Ankur (8) for the 8th wicket before Kishan Singha trapped Lee ong Lepcha lbw for 30 runs and bowled out Bijay on golden duck to wrap the Sikkim innings in 71.4 overs.
Jotin returned with the best bowling figures of 4/33 in 16 overs four of which were maidens as Kishan Singha finished with 4 for 79 in 22.4 overs which included 3 maidens.
Mention may be made that Sikkim beat Manipur by 8 wickets in the league round encounter this season.
