6th MNCA Plate Tournament : KIYC beat YWC by 20 runs in rain hit match

KIYC were declared winners by 20 runs via VJD method against YWC-Patsoi in a rain hit Group B league match of the 6th MNCA Plate Tournament here at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium today.
YWC had a forgetful day as they were bundled out for 110 runs in 35.4 overs as KIYC bowlers were up to their task today before rain interrupted the match when KIYC were 70 for 4 in 15 overs of the chase.
As rain stalled the game, the winners were decided by VJD method according to which the target was revised at 51 in 14 overs.
Eventually KIYC emerged winners by 20 runs.
YWC-Patsoi were given a hard time from the beginning and were reduced to 28 for 2 after 9 overs.
Aneesh Ahmed removed Laikhuram Jagat for 8 and Konsam Kishan got run out for 14.Abdul Hamid then dismissed Salam Johnson (5) and Khedarbath Khundrakpam (3) to make it 61 for 4 for YWC-P in 17.5 overs.
Amzad Khan then got rid of Ashishkumar Wakongbam (9) for the fifth wicket before Md Abdulla Khan opened his account by removing Nickel Loukrakpam for 8 runs.
YWC lost Jameson Thokchom for 9 to Aneesh Ahmed for the 7th wicket before Md Aman removed Loukrakpam Sumant for 6 in the 35th over.
Md Abdullah Khan then made things easier by removing Devachandra and Sagolshem Mangalsana on ducks in the 3rd and the 4th deliveries of the 36th over to skittle out YWC for 110 runs.
In the chase, KIYC lost two batters on ducks to Sagolshem Mangalsana in the first over but the second wicket partnership between Aneesh Ahmed (35) and Md Abdul Hamid (15) set up the recovery path by gathering 55 runs in 9.4 overs.
Md Farhat (5) and Najir Ali (7) were unbeaten and the scoreboard read 70 for 4 when rain stopped the play.
Aneesh Ahamed who claimed two wickets for 17 runs in 8 overs and added 35 runs, was eventually adjudged man of the match.
