Police foil Congress rally

The State police foiled a protest rally of the Congress party taken out against inflation, unemployment and alleged weaponization of Government institutions by the BJP, today.
Reportedly, the Congress workers led by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra planned to head towards Governor Bhavan but they were stopped by the police personnel shortly after they came out from the Congress Bhavan.
Later, the Congress workers were pushed back towards Congress Bhavan after a brief yet heated argument between the two sides.
Speaking to media persons, K Meghachandra condemned the police for not allowing them to stage a democratic protest.

BJP has been indulging in bulldozer politics while suppressing the voice of the people, the Congress MLA accused the saffron party of using independent agencies like CBI and Enforcement Directorate to harass the Opposition leaders, apart from tormenting the people.
He said that the grand old party will continue to air the grievances of poor people, farmers and many others who have been put under great distress due to inflation, unemployment and misusing power.
