State Level Thang-Ta competition Pravabati College, Mayai Lambi College emerge champions

Pravabati College, Mayang Imphal and Mayai Lambi College, Yumnam Huidrom were crowned men's and women's champions at the 2-day State Level Thang-Ta competition hosted by Mayai Lambi College at the college's multipurpose hall.
In the men's competition, Pravabati College bagged 6 medals- 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze to emerge on top of the competition which began yesterday while South East Manipur, Komlathabi settled for the runners up spot with 3 gold and 1 silver medals.
In the men's Phunaba Anishuba competition, Yumnam Umakanta (-50 kg), Dijen Sagolshem (-60 kg) and Yumnam Deepak (-65 kg) sealed gold medals for Pravabati College as K Lemba Singh (-55 kg) and H James (+65 kg) earned gold medals for South East Manipur College.
In the Thang-Haiba event, Konjengbam Lemba won South East Manipur College's third gold medal.
Meanwhile, Mayai Lambi College women's team bagged 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals to clinched the top honour as Moirang College finished second with 2 gold medals.
Mayai Lambi College's gold medals were won by Yumnam Dayarani Devi in the -48 kg and Yumnam Pinky in the -53 kg Phunaba Anishuba events as Puinabati Angom (-58 kg Phunaba Anishuba) and Hanjabam Shyllvia (Thang-Haiba) bagged gold medals for Moirang College.
The closing function of the two-day event was attended by P Shantikumar, Addl Director, Directorate of University and Higher Education and Dr Y Bihari, Principal Mayai Lambi College as chief guest and functional president respectively.
