PFI defers grand people's conference

The grand people's conference which Popular Front of India (PFI), Manipur had planned to convene on Saturday under the theme 'Save the Republic' has been postponed until further notice.
Speaking to newspersons at Lilong on Friday, PFI Manipur president Md Abdullah Hussain informed said that the Front has been organising 'Save the Republic' programmes since January 26 and planned for continuation till August 15 so as to make the public aware on the Indian democracy and republic.
While stating that PFI, Manipur had been organising street corner meetings, get-together programmes and area conferences in different parts of the state, he said as part of the valedictory programme the campaign, the Front planned to convene the 'Grand People's Conference' on Saturday at Sangaiyumpham Idigah Lampak in Thoubal district.
However, due to prevailing Covid-19 situation, law and order issued and as advised by the district magistrate, the conference has been postponed, said the president.
