MU holds drug awareness campaign

Imphal, August 05 2022:
Under the initiative of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Manipur University NSS Cell organised an awareness campaign on harmful effect of drugs (Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhi-yan) on Thursday and carried out a Cycle Rally from Traffic Island near Maharaj Gambir Singh Statue of the varsity.
The rally flagged by MU vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra Singh in the presence of dean of Students' Welfare Prof M Premjit Singh, registrar Prof W Chandbabu Singh, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment representatives Shivangi Garg and Nadeem, NSS Cell coordinator Dr M Nodiyachand Singh was participated by all the dignitaries as well as NSS programme officers and volunteers.
The Cycle Rally covered three' villages adopted by NSS Units of Manipur University namely Thongju Part-II, Kiyamgei and Langthabal.
Awareness programmes on "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan - Nashe Se Azadi" were conducted at the adopted villages in collaboration with the local organisations, after which the rally participants returned to VC Court Hall of MU where a formal awareness programme was conducted.
The later event included live telecast by Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar and an interaction session between the participants and VC Prof N Lokendra Singh, registrar Prof W Chandbabu Singh, Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology RIMS head Dr RK Lenin Singh and NCC Cell coordinator Dr M Nodiyachand.
