Govt to publicise diligent employees

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has stated that with the aim of encouraging the government employees to perform their duty sincerely, photographs of employees in all schools and health centres will put up in their place of work, in addition to completing the installation of biometrics within the month of August.
Responding to questions raised during the discussion on demand for grants in the assembly on Wednesday, Biren stated that absence of teachers in schools and doctors at health centres is an unfortunate issue.
As such, to reduce incidents of absenteeism among teachers in school education and doctors and nurses in health centres and to encourage them to carry out their duty sincerely, the government has decided to put up the photos of the employees at their respective places of work/posting.
This will help in identifying the hardworking employees from the absent or idle employees.
The CM further said that this initiative will be taken up in schools having up to Class XII in valley areas and up to Class X in hill districts, including the schools under ADCs.
However, for health centres, the initiative will be taken up equally in both the hill and the valley areas.
In addition, the biometric installation at all government offices to check the punctuality and attendance of government employees will be completed within the ongoing month, he informed.
Biren further said that although the BJP government came to power in March, 2017, its momentum was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The shortage of doctors at health centres is due to legal issues of MPSC, which cannot be intervened by the government.
The members of the House should refrain from requesting the transfer and posting of employees, he remarked, while urging for support towards the government's initiative.
He also appealed to the members not to abuse their power when action is taken up against absentee employees, adding that this will help in rectify the system in a short period of time.
Biren then informed that the results for recruitment of teachers and multi-tasking staff by the Education department will be declared after the culmination of the Assembly session, while assuring of preventig any financial issues in the health and education sector of the state.
