PTRC storm into U-14 cricket final

Imphal, August 05 2022:
PTRC (Patsoi Part IV) earned a smooth passage to the final with a 7 wicket win semifinal over PTCC (Patsoi Part III) in the 1st MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament at PTRC Ground on Friday.
PTRC bundled out PTCC for 98 in 14.5 overs and chased down the target in 18.1 overs with 7 wickets to spare.
Benson Yumnam stood out in the PTRC bowling attack as he ripped through PTCC's batting order to finish with figures of 5 wickets off his 6 overs.
Laitonjam James also impressed with the ball by taking 3 wickets in his 4.5 overs while Ngambarel Naoshekpam chipped in with 1 scalp.
In PTCC's innings, Chingakham Nikhil Meetei smashed a quickhre 62 off 27 balls but none of his fellow batters were able to get into double digits.
PTRC made short work of their run chase as they completed the task in 18.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.
Robinson Sougaijam (29), Stoneson (27 not out) and Salam Richie (26) were the main contributors in PTRC's successful chase.
For PTCC, Karnajit Mayanglangbam and Somobanta bagged 1 wicket each.
Benson Yumnam received the man of the match trophy for his 5-wicket haul.
ESU and TCMDC will be in action in the second semifinal match on Saturday at PCC Ground, Mayaikobi.
