CM rewards JNIMS renal transplant team

Chief minister N Biren on Friday rewarded Renal Transplant Team of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) at his Secretariat office and handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the team members for successfully conducting kidney transplant at the state-run hospital.
It may be mentioned that chief minister had announced the reward soon after the successful conduct of the transplant.
Altogether six kidney transplants have been successfully conducted at JNIMS, so far.
Congratulating and thanking JNIMS, especially the team of doctors, nurses, technicians and other support staff for the success, he also said: "Due to your hard work, we have received the permission to increase the number of MBBS seats in JNIMS by another 50 and that Churachandpur Medical College has also been approved.
This means that altogether MBBS seat will be increased to 250 excluding RIMS".
The Chief Minister concluded by wishing them the best in their future endeavours.
Additional CS (Health) V Vumlunmang said all six patients are getting assistance under Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) and Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY including post-transplant assistance.
"Today is also a happy occasion as JNIMS has now received permission of the National Medical Commission to increase MBBS Seat from 100 to 150," he added.
The ceremony was also attended by Health minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, Health Services director Kh Shasheekumar Mangang, JN Institute of Medical Sciences director Prof L Deben Singh, doctors and nurses among others.
