Meetei LIPUL locks ATSUM office to protest blockade

Denouncing the indefinite bandh imposed by All Manipur Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) over the demands for discussion on The Manipur Hill Areas ADC Bill 2021 in the ongoing Assembly session; Meetei LIPUL locked the office of ATSUM on Thursday afternoon, accusing it (ATSUM) of putting the people in distress.
On Thursday around 1.15 pm, a team of Meetei LIPUL led by its leader Chinglemba Wahengbam locked the office of ATSUM located at Adimjati, Chingmeirong.
Chinglemba denounced ATSUM's unreasonable imposition of the bandh along the national highway and putting the valley people in difficulty.
He then urged ATSUM against holding the people hostage in pursuance of its demand to the government, while stating that ATSUM must take Meetei LIPUL's permission before reopening the locked office.
