ESU condoles demise of L Angoutombi

Eastern Sporting Union (ESU), Palace Compound has condoled sudden demise of former football player, referee and an active member of the union, Laikhuram Angoutombi on August 1 after a short illness.
The union in a condolence note stated that his demise has left all in the union in a state of deep shock and loss.
After his playing days, Angoutombi devoted himself as a sports activist and was involved in various activities of the union, recalled ESU.
A banker by profession, he was associated with various farmers' groups.
Besides, he was a theatre activist who was associated with Chorus Repertory Theatre and Maharaj Garibniwaj Memorial Club for about four decades, ESU noted.
He was a polite, sincere and rational gentleman and his demise is a great loss not only to the family and the club but also to the entire State, it said.
The union also shared its grief with the members of the bereaved family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
