Thang-Ta: Mayai Lambi, Pravabati colleges emerge champions

Mayai Lambi College (Yumnam Huidrom) and Pravabati College (Mayang Imphal) emerged team champions of the State Level Thang-Ta (men & Women) Competition organised by Mayai Lambi College under the Directorate of University & Hr Education, Manipur at Multipurpose Hall, Yumnam Huidrom, Imphal West.
The Mayai Lambi College won two gold, one silver and one bronze medals over the course of the two-day competition to clinch the women's championship title on Friday.
Yumnam Dayarani Devi (-48kg) and Yumnam Pinky Devi f-53kg), both in women's event, bagged the gold medals for their triumphant college.
Yumnam Dayarani also took a bronze medal besides her gold.
Sandham Ranjana Chanu was the silver medallist of the Mayai Lambi College team.
Moirang College finished runners-up with two gold medals.
Pravabati College (Mayang Imphal), on the other hand, won the men's competition after bagging three gold, two silver and one bronze medals.
Yumnam Umakanta Meitei, Dijen Shagolshem and Yumnam Deepak Singh were the top finishers in their respective categories for their college.
Dijen Shagolshem claimed a silver medal on top of his yellow metal, with L Lenin Meitei also securing a silver for the Pravabati College whose lone bronze medal was bagged by Kh Tompok Singh.
With three gold and one silver medals, South East Manipur College (Komlathabi) secured the second place.
The competition drew 10 teams each of men's & women's representing Mayai Lambi College, Moirang College, Pravabati College (Mayang Imphal), Birmangol College (Sawombung), South East Manipur College (Komlathabi), Standard College (Kongba), Regional College (Lilong), Modern College (Porompat), Liberal College (Luwangsangbam) and S Kula Women's College (Nambol).
P Shantikumar Singh, additional director Directorate of University & Higher Education, and Dr Y Bihari Singh, principal Mayai Lambi College, were chief guest and president on the closing day.
