Medical camps organised

With an aim to address the basic medical needs of the locals staying in remote areas of Churachandpur district which invariably gets neglected due to lack of medical resources, Loktak Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a medical camp at New Zalenphai village in Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), free consultation, routine health check-up and medical treatments were provided to the locals of New Zalenphai and adjoining villages as part of the camp.
A total of 165 locals that included 57 men, 69 women and 39 children were screened, diagnosed and treated during the medical camp.
The event was also utilised to raise awareness amongst locals about basic health education, causes and prevention from viral diseases and significance on hygiene and sanitation.
The locals conducted a cultural programme depicting the celebration of harvesting season to show their gratitude and enhance the bonhomie with Security Forces.
Meanwhile, Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a medical camp in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Churachandpur during Mega Legal Services Empowerment Camp at Churachandpur on Thursday.
During the camp, the Battalion carried out consultation, health check-up and medical treatment of 232 locals.
Further, the Battalion also provided administrative assistance to DLSA, Churachandpur for the conduct of one day Mega Legal Services Empowerment Camp to empower the citizens about awareness on legal issues.
