Kakching, November 11 2022:
Distribution of winter crop seeds to 63 farmers of Kakching district was organised by Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Thoubal/Kakching district officer Mutum Nabachandra and his staff, as first instalment under the centrally sponsored Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH)-2022-23' on Friday.
The distribution programme held at Sub Division Agriculture Office Complex, Kakching was attended by Kakching MLA M Rameshwar as chief guest, former minister & Senior Citizens' Forum, Kakching president Nongmaithem Nimai as president and Kakching deputy commissioner Somorjit Salam as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rameshwar opined that on top of infrastructural development, it is necessary to take up measures for enhancing the economic condition of people, so that they could educate their children and live a dignified life.
Instead of thinking of getting government jobs, people should see financial opportunities in selling the agriculture produces of the state in other places.
Kakching is known for being most fertile in the state in producing paddy and other crops.
As such, people of the district should work hard to produce maximum yield from various crops to raise the economy of the district, he exhorted, while assuring personal endeavour to implement various agricultural schemes and project in the district.
