SAF conference underway

Imphal, November 11 2022:
A 3-day South Asian Fraternity (SAF) conference on the theme "Demolish the Wall: Build the Bridges", organised by SAF, commenced from Friday at Bal Vidya Mandir, Palace Compound, here.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Keishamthong MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam expressed that conduct of the event shows the unity and oneness of people.
He also emphasised the need to carry out all activities by up holding the values of humanity first and extended best wished to the Fraternity in all its future endeavours.
Taking part in the event, SAF convenor Salam Rupachandra noted the lack of social works in the society and said that the conference aims to encourage the people to indulge in social activities for enhancing the quality of living in the society.
He urged everyone to refrain from criticising and passing judgement and instead strive together for preserving the traditional culture and the world as a whole.
He informed that the conference had the participation by delegates from nine South East Asian countries in previous years, but the number declined due to problems in obtaining Visa.
Nonetheless, many people from various states are participating in the conference, he said.
Presided over by Fraternity president Satya Paul, the inaugural function of the conference was also attended by Organising Committee chairman Yumnam Khogen, officials and delegates, among others.
