Two held with fake ILP passes

Imphal, November 11 2022:
A team of Heingang police station on Thursday apprehended two people with fake ILP passes.
The two have been identified as Prabir Pal (43) s/o Jagabondhu Pal of Uttar Nawabganj Balashi, West Bengal and Nashim Ali (24) s/o Nasir Ali of Yairipok Ningthounai Yambem, Imphal East.
Nashim allegedly facilitated Prabir to possess the fake pass.
According to a police report, DC Imphal East filed a report on November 10, stating that a regular ILP pass had been issued by forging the DC s signature.
The fake pass had been issued to one Prabir Pal on November 9, 2022 with validity till June 8,2023 and his address designated at Heingang Makha Leikai.
The ILP pass which was issued offline had, in reality, expired on July 25 this year.
Based on the DCs report, Heingang PS registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
During the investigation, both Prabir Pal and Nashim Ali were arrested from their respective houses.
On questioning, both confessed to the charges levelled against them.
Nashim disclosed that a mastermind residing outside the state had sent the fake ILP passes.
Police also seized 3 more fake ILP passes from his possession.
Both were produced before the court of CJM Imphal East on Friday, which then remanded them to 15 days in judicial custody.
