Education Minister assures to upgrade Jadonang Memorial College

The valedictory function of the platinum jubilee celebration of Longmai Baptist Church (LBC) held under the theme "The Unchanging Grace of God'' was held today at Longmai-II common ground.
The programme was organised by Longmai Churches Fellowship (LCF) .
Education Minister Th Basantakumar Singh and Nungba AC MLA cum Chairman of Hill Areas Committee (HAC) Dinganglung Gangmei attended the programme as chief guest and guest of honour while D Khuidilung and Meiduan Gangmei, Khunbu and Khullakpa of Longmai village were the functional presidents.
The Khunbu and the Khullakpa accorded warm greetings to the guests.
The programme began with an opening prayer by Pastor Dimchungrei Rongmei.
At the event, Th Basantakumar conveyed warm greetings to the Longmai people.

Saying that Manipur is a State inhabited by different tribes and communities, the Education Minister maintained that Longmai people are able to celebrate the 75th year of Christianity due to their sense of unity and integrity.
He further stated that Manipur could attain greater heights when the relation among the people of Manipur is further strengthened.
The Education Minister also assured that the Haipou Jadonang Memorial College at Noney district Hqs will be upgraded to a full-fledged Government college shortly.
"D.Ed Training Centre at Noney district Hqs too will start functioning from the academic session 2022-23," he said and added that the Government will roll out a teacher recruitment drive to fill the vacant posts.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh could not attend the celebration as he had an important programme to attend to, Basantakumar added.
D Gangmei, also expressed his warm greetings to all the Longmai people adding that Longmai is a village of peace and unity.
Several cultural events were also held as a part of the programme.
Thuigai Mathieu Rongmei, Chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes; Pauline, Noney DC; Pourallung Kabui, SDO Longmai (Noney); Dr Zianthuilung Kamei, CMO Noney; Badan Thaimei, ZEO Noney; religious leaders from different Churches under RBCC and CSOs leaders from Noney also attended the programme, among others.
