Career counselling, awareness campaign organised

Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (South) organised career counselling for recruitment in Assam Rifles/Army with local youth of Sokom village in Chandel district on Thursday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the aim of the event was to create awareness among local youth with respect to various aspects and benefits offered by the Agnipath scheme to join defence forces and resolved the queries related to the opportunities available post completion of 4-year tenure.
A total of 5 girls and 20 boys attended the event.
The youth were satisfied with the response and expressed their enthusiasm to join the armed forces.
The effort of creating awareness by giving a thorough insight to join Indian Army and Assam Rifles was highly appreciated by the youth.
Meanwhile, with an endeavour to spread Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to far flung areas, Loktak Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted an awareness campaign against alcohol, drug abuse and illicit trafficking at Phoubakchao Higher Secondary School in Imphal West district on Thursday.
The aim of the awareness campaign was to impart knowledge to school going children and teens regarding alcohol addiction, drug abuse and its ill effects on psychological, mental and physical wellbeing.
The campaign also covered the solutions such as rehabilitation and recovery from addiction.
It also emphasised on importance of mental health care and social support to overcome the addiction.
The campaign saw exhilarating participation as approximately 40 students and 10 teaching staff.
