Family members demand SIT probe into suspicious death of Yarnam Haorei

The family members of late Yarnam Haorei have urged the Chief Minister to assign a Special Investigation Team to probe the alleged murder of Yarnam Haorei and deliver justice at the earliest.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Ngasomi Haorei, father of (L) Yarnam Haorei and his uncle Pamshon Haorei have urged the Chief Minister to take up immediate measures to probe the alleged murder of Yarnam Haorei (22yrs) from Chingai village, Ukhrul district who was working as a JCB driver for Mingthing Horam of New Tusom, Jessami PS, Ukhrul district.
The letter mentioned that on Nov 5 last, (L) Yarnam Haorei was travelling from Jessami to New Tusom along with tipper driver Ranjit Gola of Assam and handyman Eyepe Wezah of Jessami village.
'But they got into a scuffle in connection with the replacement of one of the tyres of the JCB which got punctured and (L) Yarnam has informed his mother over the phone that he has been assaulted by the two men', the family members informed.
An on the following day, his body was found hanging from a tree in the jungle in a suspicious manner.
The mortal remains of Yarnam Haorei was brought to Imphal on November 7 last for postmortem however the family members suspect foul play and involvement of external influence since no report of the postmortem has been issued till date.
Considering the above situation, the family members of the deceased have stated that they will not claim the body until and unless justice is delivered to the deceased and his bereaved family.
It is worth mentioning that tipper driver, Ranjit Gola of Assam and handyman, Eyepe Wezah have been arrested in connection with the case and an FIR has been lodged against their accomplices including the JCB owner, Minthing Horam.
