CPI condoles Kh Surchand demise

Communist Party of India-Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) has extended deepest condolences over the demise of its assistant secretary Khangjrakpam Surchand Singh, who was also a member of the National Council and the editor of the fortnightly journal, "Khollao" .
Surchand passed away on Monday evening due to ill health and Covid infection.
On Tuesday, leaders of the party visited Surchand's residence at Moirang Hanuba Leirak in Patsoi AC and convened a condolence meeting.
The gathering also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
During the condolence meeting, party leaders Dr M Nara and L Sotinkumar remembered the contributions made by Surchand, including demands for setting up an agricultural university, statehood, etc, for which he even served time in jail.
His untimely demise is a huge loss for the party, they said.
CPI Moirang Local Council also extended its condolences over the demise of Surchand during a condolence meeting held on Tuesday and observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the deceased.
