Imphal, February 08 2022:
UNLF Military Affairs Committee (MAC) Chairman Khungdongbam Pambei has asserted that it's time to work out a collective revolutionary struggle for the entire WESEA region subsequent upon racial profiling of the peoples of WESEA, racism, repression and reprisal perpetrated by India.
A statement issued by Pambei on the occasion of MPA's 35th raising day asserted that there is an urgent need to resolve the intra-Meitei differences among the revolutionary groups as well as the inter-ethnic non-antagonistic contradiction.
It is also essential to study and understand the multi-ethnic nationalism of the different communities of Manipur and WESEA.
Pambei said that the UNLF's war of liberation which started in 1964 is a struggle to safeguard the integrity of Manipur, protect the State from being overwhelmed by non-local people and deliver a life of freedom and prosperity to the masses.
The liberation struggle is the only means to free the poor and suffering people from the clutches of the Indian capitalist system, the MAC Chairman said.
The current socio-political situation of Manipur is a result of the artificial differences implanted by India between the hill people and plain people of Manipur, he continued.
In the course of the liberation movement, it is essential to preserve the characteristics of Manipur being a Nation, the MAC Chairman asserted.
There was a united Nation State called Manipur but the adversary forces conspired to divide the Nation into hills and plain, Pambei said.
He maintained "Ethnicity is about identifying ourselves.
It is not about other people identifying us " .
Countries of Africa and Middle East have the maximum number of ethnic communities in the world.
Civil wars and ethnic conflicts have been ravaging these countries.
As a result, peoples of these countries are yet to see the dawn of development, said the outfit.
Out of the indigenous people, a privileged class who are quite powerful financially and politically is being groomed by the Government of India.
New Delhi has been scheming to hand over the alleged colonial rule to this privileged class, it alleged.
This privileged class does not want Manipur to sever ties with India as they are becoming richer day by day under the current system, it continued.
The Government of India is becoming more tyrannical.
In the name of Hindutva and Nationalism, it is now following a policy of 'one party, one religion, one language and one supreme leader', it alleged.
Apart from making all attempts to force younger generations to learn Hindi, India is embarking on a path to commit genocide upon minorities as testified by a resolution adopted at a Haridwar Sansad, it alleged.
It went on to accuse the Government of India of gagging media, employing Pegasus software (spyware) extensively to censure the public, taking the people of Kashmir and WESEA for granted by considering only their economic and geo-strategic interests etc.
Instead of showing any sympathy to the recent killing which took place in Mon district, Nagaland, the Government of India has been using AFSPA as a tool of the alien rule, it alleged.
"The Government of India's policy that only people of their race and colour should live can be defeated only through the revolutionary struggle and we can save ourselves", Pambei said.
He then called upon the youth to understand these realities and join the liberation with firm determination.
The UNLF MAC conveyed best wishes to leaders and cadres of the revolutionary groups of Manipur and WESEA.
It also paid tributes to all those who made supreme sacrifices in the course of the liberation movement as well as those people whose lives were cut short by the atrocities of the adversary forces.
The MAC also conveyed best New Year and revolutionary greetings to all the communities of Manipur on the 35th raising day of MPA.
