Shiv Sena fields 13 candidates

While announcing that Shiv Sena would be fielding a total of 13 candidates in the ensuring 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, Shiv Sena, Manipur president M Tombi declared that the party would be engaging in a friendly contest with Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA) in some of the constituencies.
Addressing a press meet held at Shiv Sena Manipur office, Babupara here Tuesday, Tombi informed that around 13 party candidates nled'their nominations on Tuesday.
Among the 13 candidates, if they do not submit affidavits mentioning about criminal cases against them, if there is any, then the AB form would not be applicable even if the forms had been issued.
Meanwhile, talks have been held with the MDA partners regarding a common candidate and also for friendly contest in some of the constituencies.
MDA has already selected a total of 25 candidates, he added.
Urging the people to extend support to Shiv Sena and MDA, Tombi remarked that the incumbent government has failed to fulfil 90 per cent of the promises made to the people.
The state continues to suffer from lack of development.
The party's suggestion for setting up a National Highway Protection Force is still pending, he pointed out.
Although BJP has implemented the ILP system in the state, some provisions for safeguarding the future generation needs to be included.
Additionally, the skyrocketing prices of goods is unfortunate.
Thus, people should not forget to take their receipts for purchasing goods as the tax mentioned in the receipt goes to the government.
The tax is then utilised for the development of the state," he elaborated.
He also urged the people to elect only the capable and competent candidates, avoid casting their votes to those involved in corruption cases.
