BAB celebrates foundation day

Bujuur Aanchung Puh (BAP), which is the apex body of Moyon tribe, celebrated its 85th Foundation Day at its head office located at Kapaam village, Chandel district on Tuesday.
Several members of Moyon tribe who had brought name and glory for the community were also felicitated during the event.
The Foundation Day Cum Felicitation Programme was attended by Horticulture and Soil Conservation director Honey Chara as chief guest and BAP president Ng Rustum as functional president.
The celebration commenced with flag hoisting and unveiling of monolith by the chief guest while BAP speaker Sb Jenial delivered the keynote address of the programme.
Around 43 individuals belonging to Moyon tribe who made a mark in the field of academics, religion, etc, were also felicitated.
Cultural performances including traditional songs, dance and other entertainment items were also showcased as a part of the programme during which BAP president Ng Rustum recounted that it was formed in 1937 and its first president was Ngamdil Serbum and general secretary Thoma Roel.
They along with Thomchung Nungchim, Angphar Ngoruw and Chinir Mono Mochiih were honoured by the International Institute of Biblical Studies by awarding the Posthumous Doctor of Divinity Honorary Degree in 2021, he added.
The Foundation Day celebration was participated by residents of 18 Moyon villages.
