Army hands over IT hardware to villages

As a part of Operation Sadbhavana of the Indian Army, Red Shield Division of Spear Corps handed over IT hardware including eight computers, printers and IT furniture to Machangram and Kanglatongbi Tispari villages in a ceremony held at Leimakhong military station on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Red Shield Division Deputy GOC Brig K Loganathan informed that realising the need for the young students to enrich their talents using computers, the computers and accessories were presented to the two villages.
He continued that the Indian army has been helping border villages and underprivileged villagers.
The Indian Army and the Red Shield Division are committed to the overall development of the region and have been working with local and civil administration for the improvement of same, and shall continue to do so in future, Loganthan assured.
Machangram Village headman Thomas Shingbengmei said that there are several inadequacies in the village.
It took a long time for the government to look into the inconveniences.
However, Indian army has solved the problem of scarcity of water and poor road connection in the village.
Moreover, they also developed a football ground, he added.
The headman lauded the Indian army for such acts of helping the village.
Dillip Kumar Karki of Kanglatongbi Tispari village also expressed gratitude towards Red Shield Division and the Indian Army for executing project for development in the region.
