Conference on Laininghal Phulo held

Laininghal Naoriya Phulo (Phundrei) Memorial Charitable Trust, Soibam Leikai organised the 81st Laininghal Memorial International Conference on Laininghal Phulo at Manipur Press Club here on Tuesday.
Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar, Apokpa Marup Shanglen president Th Kuber and former AIR director Dilip Mayengbam attended the conference as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Arunkumar called for upholding indigenous religion and culture.
He also assured of doing his best so as to fulfil the demands of the Trust submitted in the form of a memorandum by bringing it up to the attention of the government.
Trust president Ningthoukhongjam Chaoba spoke on how Laininghal Naoriya Phulo started a movement to revive lost religion, culture, tradition, language and script.
The trust is continuing the movement by propagating the teachings of Laininghal Phulo, he said, adding that the Trust will work towards acquiring a land plot to develop a Laininghal Memorial Park where his life-size statue will be erected and a memorial temple built.
The park will also have conference hall, public hall for hosting feasts, guest house, Laininghal chair and a university, he revealed.
