Travellers looted between Pherima and Dimapur

Senapati, July 05 2022:
Five people travelling from Senapati to Dimapur in a car were robbed by unknown miscreants in broad daylight on June 30 .
According to the victims, the five persons travelling in Hyundai Venue car were heading to Dimapur from Senapati when two numberless Bolero vehicles (silver & white colour) suddenly blocked their way, one in front and the other behind, at Pherima village around 2 pm.
Then three persons posing as police personnel from the crime branch contended that they received an intelligence report that those people in the car were carrying illegal materials.
The five victims were chairman of Kodom Khavii village and his wife, a college lecturer, a staff from the Senapati district election office and a friend of the village chairman, all from the same village.
They informed that even though they identified themselves, the three persons hijacked their car and drove it towards Patkai bridge and detained there for around 3 hours.
But after returning their car by the miscreants, the victims found that their belongings including 2 mobile phones, Rs 10,000 in cash and other were missing.
Even the spare tyre of the car was cut with knife while car window channels and accessories stolen.
The victims also informed that the matter was reported to the Poumai Hoho Dimapur and later an FIR an FIR was filed at the Chumukidima police station.
So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the case.
