RULE upstage MPSC to seal Superplate title

Imphal, July 05 2022:
RULE (Malom) beat MPSC by five wickets and won the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament 2021-22 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Put in to bat, MPSC posted a total of 122/8 in the stipulated 35 overs.
In the innings, Laishram Kipajan Singh (22), Soubam Kingson Singh (21), Indraban S Koijam (17), Maibam Bijoykumar Singh (16) and Gelson Singh Thoudam (13) got into double digits for their side.
In reply, RULE took 28.4 overs to knock off the target as Chabungbam Ishworjit Singh took centre stage, racking an unbeaten 71 off 75 balls.
Sanjenbam Somokanta Singh did his bit with 21 off 42 balls and Jay Singh Hourakcham contributed 14 .
Thokchom Kishan Singh (6 not out), Sanjenbam (3), Ayekpam Rakesh Singh (2) and Rajkumar Herachandra Singh (1) were other run getters for the winning team.
In the process of their chase, the Malom squad lost one wicket each to Maibam Bojoykumar, Keisham Kennedy, Sarangthem Shangker Singh and Potsangbam Bonem Singh.
Earlier, Nongthombam Denin Singh and Sanjenbam Ananda Singh picked up two wickets each while Thokchom Kishan Singh, Md Karim, Nongthombam Sarojkumar Singh and Jay Singh Hourakcham took one apiece for RULE.
Courtesy of their title triumph, RULE pocketed Rs 1,20,000 in prize money as runners MPSC received Rs 80,000.RULE'S Jay Singh Hourakcham walked away with both the man of the series and highest wicket taker trophies, KSDO's Hamza Rehan Sayyed was named the highest run scorer, and RULE'S Chabungbam Ishworjit Singh was adjudged the man of the final match.
