Imphal, November 02 2022:
Street vendors of Khwairamband Keithel have expressed gratitude to the state government and chief minister N Biren for presenting a market shed as a gift of Ningol Chakkouba to them.
Addressing a press meet at the temporary market shed here on Wednesday, Road Side Vendors' Welfare Association (RSVWA) president Kshetri Tama said that the street vendors are grateful to the government for providing them the market shed.
However, several street vendors are still not getting their seats due to limited number of seats in the market shed, she pointed out, while urging the government to construct another market shed at a suitable location and to frame a market policy for street vendors.
She further said that RSVWA along with Schedule Tribe Women Vendors' Welfare Association Khwairamband Keithel, Minority Muslim Vendors' Welfare Union, and Salai Taret Apunba Nupi Samaj are also grateful to all those who contributed in making the market shed a reality.
