Despite the notification, the road being a busy thoroughfare for people as the bridge is only two km away from NH-37, public are using it by modi lying the placements of metal plates in-spite of high risk to avoid a 10-km long detour.
Though PWD has notified the bridge as damaged, the department is yet to place any sign board for the public at the bridge warning of its poor structural integrity.
One of the locals urged the authorities concerned to repair the bridge at the earliest as it connects not only Jiri College but also various government departments and schools.
