Khuga Battalion of IGAR (South) organised Vigilance Awareness Gram Sabha in in Churachandpur district as part of Vigilance Awareness Week on Wednesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), during the awareness oriented Gram Sabha held at Songdoi village, the participants were briefed about corruption, its effect on development of nation and measures to eradicate corruption from the grassroots level.
Due emphasis was given on types of vigilance i.e., preventive vigilance, punitive vigilance & surveillance and detection basic.
The aim of the drive was to bring together all the stakeholders to participate in the prevention of corruption and to raise public awareness about the threats posed by corruption, the release added.
Meanwhile, Sorrisai Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a cyber awareness lecture for troops and families of Assam Rifles on the occasion of Cyber Jagrukta Diwas at Somsai in Ukhrul district on Wednesday.
During the lecture, troops and families were made aware on dos and don'ts on social media, safeguard of mobile and personal computer from cyber attacks, said the PRO in another release.
