Teresa Niangngaihsang wins Miss Kut-2022 title

Teresa Niangngaihsang Varte has bagged the title of Miss Kut-2022, which was organised as part of the State Level Kut Festival-2022 held at Peace Ground, Tuibong in Churachandpur district on Tuesday evening.
The beauty pageant, which was attended by ministers, MLAs, and other top officials, was held around 8pm on Tuesday, as the grand event of the festival.
The first runner-up title was secured by Vahhoichong Haokip while the second runner-up title went to Rosy Niang Biak Mawi.
In addition, six other contestants were adjudged winners of various sub titles.
The Miss Beautiful Title was awarded to Nengdeikim; Miss Beautiful Hair to Sisi Lhingdeichongkim Khongsai; Miss Beautiful Smile to Soibam Sushima Devi; Miss Photogenic to Hillary Chanu; Miss Traditional Dress Designer to Gloria Sanate; and Miss Congeniality to Angelica Borah.
The semi final round of the pageant had 10 contestants, out of which the top 5 were selected, followed by the top 3 for the final round.
Apart from winning the Miss Kut-2022 title, Teresa Niangngaihsang also walked home richer with cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while 1st runner up Vahhoichong Haokip and second runner-up Rosy Niang Biak Mawi received cash prizes of Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
Meanwhile, the two-day Chavang Kut celebration held at Gaingam Lantuol Ground, Moreh concluded on Tuesday evening.
The grand finale of the festival was attended by Tribal Affairs and Hills minister Letpao Haokip as the chief guest and Hill Areas Committee chairman Diganglung Gangmei as president while Karong MLA J Kumo Sha, Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Pamei and Wangoi MLA Kh Loken were the guests of honour.
The programme was also attended by Kut Committee chairman Victor Limthang, 5 Assam Rifles commanding officer Col Raza Israel, Moreh Town Committee convenor Chinneivah Haokip, government officials and representatives of CSOs.
As part of the celebration, Kuki cultural dances, musical entertainment and Mister and Miss Kut contest were also organised.
Addressing the gathering, minister Letpao assured to accelerate developmental works and projects in the border town and also wished for peaceful co-existence and prosperity with the celebration of Kut festival.
