Imphal, November 02 2022:
As part of the ongoing institutional survey launched by Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK), a team of FESOK inspected three schools under Heingang Constituency.
According to a statement issued by FESOK, the three schools are Lairikyengbam Awang Leikai Primary School; Abushidik Junior High School, Kairang Khunjil and Kairang Khunjil Primary School.
The statement went on to claim that both Abushidik Junior High School and Kairang Khunjil Primary School do not have playgrounds for students.
FESOK also alleged that the two schools were found locked at 11:37 am.
In this aspect, FESOK urged the relevant authority to address the issue of certain educational institutions flouting the directive given by the Directorate of Education (S) on March 26, 2022 regarding new school timings.
FESOK further claimed that during previous inspections teachers of the two schools were found absent and the schools were found locked on other occasions.
As such, the statement urged the concerned authority to take up necessary action against the teachers.
With regards to Lairikyengbam Awang Leikai Primary School, FESOK stated that during the course of their inspection, they found a total of nine (9) pre-primary students and one (1) primary student studying in the school.
FESOK also claimed that the school had a total of 7 teachers, out of which two were attached from other schools.
At this juncture, FESOK expressed surprise that a school which has only one primary student has employed two attached teachers and appealed to the concerned authority to look into the matter.
