Training on "Human trafficking & child protection system" held

Bishnupur, November 02 2022:
FSB India Suraksha in association with Bishnupur District Police organised a 1-day training programme on "Human Trafficking and Child Protection System in Manipur" at Conference Hall, SP Bishnupur today.
The programme was conducted as a part of Project Mukti-an anti-trafficking initiative to combat human trafficking and sexual abuse in Manipur implemented with the support of ECPAT Luxembourg.
It was attended by N Herojit Meetei, Superintendent of Police Bishnupur and Satyam, Additional SP Bishnupur along with other police officers representing Women Police Stations, Anti-human Trafficking Units and Special Juvenile Police Stations.

During the event, Project Officers of FXB India Suraksha, Sunil Meitei Khoinaijam and Wungreiso A Sangh explained the different legislations related to human trafficking, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) of Children Act (Amended) 2021 .
Sunil Meitei spoke about various concepts related to human trafficking including challenges associated in identification, screening and accessing services by victims of trafficking.
Wungreiso A Sangh elaborated the challenges & barriers faced in handling cases of children with respect to Manipur and possible solutions to ensure the safety & security of children and women.
"Human trafficking and child protection are two important issues which we as law enforcers should be sensitive about.
Such training is very necessary and needs to be conducted to keep ourselves updated with relevant information and knowledge", said N Herojit.
