The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West on Wednesday remanded Tagalung Newme who has been accused of forging a registration number of a Toyota Fortuner to judicial custody till November 16 .
Accused Tagalung Newme (21) of Tousem Khunou presently staying at Langol Game Village was produced before the Court on completion of his police custody period by Singjamei police.
Jacob Newme was arrested on October 30 last.
During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he is a driver of the seized vehicle (Toyota Fortuner) and it belongs to former ADC Member of Tamenglong, TP Sangjeuying (46) s/o TP Pournaghinglak of Tousem Khullen present staying at Langol Game Village Zone II, said the IO of the case.
It is also said that the driver received a monthly salary of Rs 5,000 and he had no idea vehicle's registration number has been tweaked as the owner didn't provide any documents to him.
The IO said that the registration number is of the vehicle (Toyota Fortuner) belonging to the complainant while the seized vehicle (also Toyota Fortuner) is from Faridabad Haryana, adding that efforts are underway to arrest the former ADC Member of Tamenglong.
The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded the accused to police custody till November 16 .
