JNCVO opposes ISKCON Temple plan

Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO), Kakching has urged Kakching Municipal Council (KMC) administrator and executive officer to not to issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the proposed construction of an ISKCON Temple at Kakching Angan Ching.
Speaking to media persons, JNGVO president Kshetrimayum Chhatradhari disclosed that they have received information that process is on in KMC for providing NOC for construction of an ISKCON Temple at Kakching Angan Ching.
Raising objection to the said temple plan, the Organisation on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the KMC administrator and executive officer urging not to issue NOC for the proposed temple at the said site, he informed.
The president continued that already a proposal has been submitted for construction of District Science Centre and Planetarium and District Library at the said area.
It has also been pressing department concerned to allot a reserved area for construction of government offices and institutes in Kakching as priority as it being a district headquarters.
As such, construction of any religious structures should be carried out at suitable site by acquiring a private land, he suggested.
