Tree plantation programmes held

Troops of 109 Bn CRPF under the aegis of 1GP Manipur and Nagaland sector conducted a tree plantation drive on June 5 in which 500 Saplings were been planted in 109 Bn CRPF Campus.
This is an initiative taken by CRPF across the Nation.
Bal Krishna Ram, Commandant-109 Bn, Sandeep 2I/C 109 Bn, Vinod Sawant, D/C, Alex Kophom, AC, Dr Th Kanta Singh MO-109 Bn, Inspector Oken Singh, SO's, Jawans of 109 BN actively participated in the plantation drive.
The tree plantation drive is carried by the troops of 109 Bn every year before the Onset of monsoon and this year also it has been conducted on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Commandant 109 BN emphasised the need to generate awareness regarding the need to protect and maintain healthy and green environment.
He further elaborated that trees contribute to the environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate, conserve water and supports wildlife.
He further appealed that we should generate strong bond with nature ano in response nature will protect us and our kids.
Commandant 109 thanked the All administration, forest department for their co-operation and support for a noble cause.
In another instance COVID-19 Task Force Ward number 9, Keishamthong AC conducted a tree plantation drive today in connection to World Environment Day.
The tree plantation programme was held at the campus of Rising Youth Club at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai and was attended by N Ingocha Singh, OC, Imphal West; Maheshwor Thounaojam, state president, RPI (Athawale) and H Shyamkanhai, chairman, COVID-19 Task Force Ward number 9, Keishamthong AC who planted a tree sapling each.
