Government extends containment period in Senapati, orders mass Covid testing

Senapati, June 07 2021:
In a bid to break the increasing trend of COVID-19 infection in Senapati, the District Magistrate Senapati has extended the containment period within the district till June 13.The District Magistrate stated that the preventive measures were necessitated considering the report of new COVID-i9 positive cases in the last few days.
As per the new order issued by Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner/Chairman, DDMA Senapati district, a mass COVID-19 testing of shopkeepers and taxi drivers (including autos) would be carried out from June 9 to 12 at Apfii Saliki (Women's Market), Senapati.
The step was reportedly taken in preparation of the gradual relaxation of containment measures from June 14, subject to new SOPs of the Government.
The SDO/SDM, Senapati & District Sur veillance Officer, Senapati have also been asked to coordinate with KSTC and work out a schedule/batches for testing as per the capacity of the Medical Department.
Chief Medical Officer, Senapati has been given the charge to make logistic arrangements for the mass testing.
The Deputy Commissioner further urged the people to follow the COVID-19 SOPs and Covid Appropriate behaviours mandated by the Government.
