Virus containment steps extended in Senapati

Senapati, June 07 2021:
Containment measures put in place since May 14 have been extended further to June 13.The decision to extend the enforcement of the restrictive order was announced by the district magistrate in a fresh order issued in view of the rising positive cases despite utmost precautionary measures being taken up within the district.
Also, as per the order issued by deputy commissioner/chairman DDMA Senapati Mahesh Chaudhari, a mass Covid-19 testing for shopkeepers and taxi drivers (including autos) shall be carried out from June 9 to 12 from 10 am to 2 pm daily at Apfii Saliki (women's market), Senapati.
This step has been reportedly taken in preparation for gradual relaxation of containment measures from June 14, subject to new SOP of the government in this regard.
Senapati SDO/SDM and District Surveillance Officer have been asked to coordinate with KSTC and workout schedule/batches for testing as per the capacity of the medical department.
Chief Medical Officer, Senapati has been given the charge to make logistic arrangements to undertake the mass testing.
In this regard, all shopkeepers, taxi drivers and general public are asked to adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour of social distancing, wearing masks and regular sanitization of hands to reduce the spread of the virus in the district, the order stated.
