Mass testing / vaccination drives launched at various sites

Speaker Y Khemchand and CAF&PD Minister Th Satyabrata organised a mass testing at Indo Burma Sport Association (IBSA) at Singjamei Yumnam Leikai today.
138 samples were tested and 22 were found to be positive at the mass testing which was organised with active collaboration from District Administration Imphal West.
Heisnam Sarat, general secretary i/c, IBSA, said in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the State and in line with the decision taken by the Government to conduct mass testing in all of Imphal West to check the spread of the virus, the mass testing at IBSA Club was organised to break the chain of spread of the virus.
As a part of mass COVID-19 testing and vaccination drive in Imphal East, the same was conducted at Ireima Haraobung in Arapti Mayai Leikai in Keirap AC today.
MLA L Rameshwor Meetei, who is also the Deputy Chairman of Manipur State Planning Board, organised the mass testing cum vaccination programme in active collaboration with District Administration Imphal East.
111 samples were tested out of which 3 were found to be positive.
SDC Sandoz, Keirao Bitra appealed everyone to get tested and vaccinated for COVID-19 in order to stay safe from the pandemic.
Mass testing cum vaccination programme was also launched at Khurai Assembly Constituency today.
Speaking on the occasion, Amba Sanjenbam, coordinator of Assembly Segment Covid Awareness and Enforcement Committee said that more than 40 persons have succumbed to Covid in Khurai A/C and around 1000 patients have recovered and have been discharged from Co vid Care Centres.
As of now there are around 300 active cases in the constituency, he added.
He continued that under the aegis of L Susindro Meitei, MLA of Khurai A/C who is also the chairman of the Committee, best possible measures have been taken up to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Elaborating about the containment measures, he said that vaccination programmes are being held at 4 different places in the constituency and extensive measures are being taken up for mass testing and vaccination with the support from the local clubs.
Three individuals were found to be Covid positive out of 109 individuals tested today and the negative ones were given the Covid vaccine accordingly, he added.
Kongpal Social Development Club (KSDO), Kongpal Khaidem Leikai organised COVID-19 vaccination drive in Kshetrigao AC in collaboration with Lamyanba Eepu, intending candidate from Kshetrigao AC in the upcoming general election in 2022.In a statement issued by the election committee of Lamyanba Eepu.
it said there was plan to vaccinate about 380 people.
