Imphal, May 27 2022:
Condemning the 'religiously contemptuous' remark allegedly made by retired IPS officer during a discussion programme of Impact TV aired on May 21, All Manipur Brahmin Organisation (AMBO) has demanded the panellist to tender apology within seven days.
Addressing a press meet at Guruaribam Mandav, Brahmapur Nahabam Leirak here on Friday, AMBO president K Saratchandra said that the retired IPS officer was participating as one of the panellists in the discussion on the topic 'Recruitment in cold storage, why' .
During the discussion, the panellist compared the delay in declaring results for IRB results with Brahmins waiting for offering made by local residents in their locality as an analogy.
Terming his remark as contemptuous against Hindus, especially Brahmins, he questioned the rationale of making the comparison with a totally unrelated matter.
His remark amounts to contempt or hatred towards Hindus and it will have negative impact on the cordial relationship among people of different religions, said Saratchandra and set a week's time for the panellist to apologise.
He also appealed to TV channels to take up necessary measures to prevent their panellists from making such contemptuous remarks in future.
