Renedy keen to set up academy in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, May 27 2022:
An outreach programme for taxpayers on the importance of paying taxes and ease of tax compliance was held at DC Bungalow, Tamenglong on Friday.
The programme organised under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and North East Region Converses was attended by footballer Potsangbam Renedy Singh, commissioner of Income Tax (admin & taxpayer services) GG Kamei, DC Worshang and Additional commissioner (income tax) Ng Joseph Gangte among others.
Speaking at the event, P Renedy Singh, who is also former Indian football team captain, encouraged the people to support the government by paying taxes and conveyed that in-spite of the poor road condition in Tamenglong district he would love to come back and help set up a football training academy if there's a coach.
He also narrated how he became a footballer and called upon the parents not to stop their children from playing football.
"Let the children choose career that best suits them", he stressed.
Renedy Singh was felicitated under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' and North East Region Converses by Income Tax Department, NER.
The Income Tax Department also felicitated social activist Dr Alana Golmei, feminist Akeina Gonmei, litterateur Gaikhuanlung Gangmei, wildlife conservationist Dr Chambo Gonmei, music artiste Obed Zeme, social activist Major (retd) Kamei Gaigonglung (retd), social & human rights activist Aram Pamei, actor/filmmaker Kachangthai Gonmei, music maestro Dr LT Panmei and educationist.
