Sensitization / interaction programme of stakeholders of JJ Act 2015 organised

A sensitization cum interaction programme for all the stakeholders under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 was conducted today at the conference Hall, ADR Building, Lamphel Court Complex.
The programme was organised jointly by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal West and DLSA, Tamenglong under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA), said a press release by DLSA, Imphal West.
The programme was led by A Guneshwar Sharma, MJS, District and Sessions Judge, Imphal West cum Chairman, DLSA, Imphal West, Tamenglong and Chandel and was accompanied by Dr Laishram Rina Devi, Secretary, DLSA, Tamenglong and Heeralata Moirangthem, Secretary, DLSA, Imphal West.
Sorokhaibam Sadananda, Additional Member Secretary, MASLSA, members of Child Welfare Committees, and Juvenile Justice Board, District Child Protection Officers, Legal cum Probation Officers, counsellors, superintendents of Child Care Institutions namely, Children Home, Open Shelter, Observation Home, Special Home, Place of Safety, Specialized Adoption Agency, Fit Facilities under the jurisdiction of Imphal West, Tamenglong and Noney also attended today's programme.
During the programme, a group discussion on various problems under the JJ Act, 2015 was held.
A Guneshwar Sharma spoke briefly on "Overview of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015" and appealed to all the Stakeholders to follow basic tenets mandated by the JJ Act, 2015 for effective implementation of the Act.
Sorokhaibam Sadananda spoken on the topic "Bail and Offences By and Against Children" while Heeralata Moirangthem deliberated on "General Principles to be followed in Administration of the JJ Act, 2015" and Dr Laishram Rina Devi gave a detailed speech on "Steps to be taken up by all the Stakeholders for Speedy Disposal of Cases under the JJ Act, 2015".The programme which was participated by around 80 stakeholders concluded with a brief interaction session, added the release.
