Longmai VA decries sluggish project works

Villager authority leaders of Longmai area in Noney district decried the slow progress of infrastructure development and incomplete projects at the district headquarters.
The village leaders inspected status of development projects which are being taken up in Longmai village such as Noney DC's office building, Block Institute of Teacher Education (BITE), sports centre, SDO block office, community water reservoir, PMJSY roads, etc.
Talking to media persons, Ading Golmei, court member of Longmai Village Authority, informed that the people of Noney district are facing multiple problems and inconveniences due to absence of a proper district administration office (DCs office) and the DC office functioning with less number of officials.
He continued that the foundation stone of the incomplete DC office building was laid in 2019 by CM N Biren Singh and targeted for completion in December 2021, but the construction is making very little progress flue to lack of manpower and construction materials.
Till now only 55 percent of construction work has been completed, the VA leader added.
He appealed to the government and the contractors to increase the number of manpower to expedite construction for inauguration.
It may be mentioned that the construction work of the DCs office complex is being carried out by a contractor under the state PWD with a project costs of Rs 7 crore.
The inspection team included Kasaigai Gangmei, chairman Longmai Village Authority, Gailachung Kamei, secretary Longmai Village Authority, Kaguichung Gonmei, chairman Longmai Peih Customary Court, Kenan Kamei, court member Longmai Village Authority and other village authority leaders and CSO leaders.
